Note: This is mostly for first time visitors, although these are places everyone can keep visiting and never get bored!

Well, Goa is enough explored for you to be poured with information on the net, friends who've visited and their friends and their friends and so on.. So, rest assure people will give you suggestions and hopefully they are ur type of places.

However, there are some places in Goa (esp North Goa) that are MUST VISITS and cannot be missed no matter what!! I'm listing them and the details of these places:

1. BRITTO's

Good:
Irrespective of how crowded Baga is, this is one of the only places one shouldn't miss.. The prawn curry rice and blueberry cheese cake is to die for here!!Although everything here is worth a try..

Don't be surprised if you bump into celebrities here in their shorts and without make up looking just like you :-) This is a hot spot at Baga, its been there for like ever!!!!

No Good:
The fact that it serves only Kingfisher for beer!

2. CURLIES:

Good:
This place is on Anjuna Beach.. I'll show the way to get here in my next post..
It is a must visit for all the trance lovers!! They play some crazy ass psytrance.. Also, they've got great ambiance. There is something about this place that psyches you out.. My suggestion would be to make good friends with the bartender and he'll let you know all the half moon parties happening around :-) Also, Curlies hosts All night Psytrance parties post 11 pm on select days.. You need to be inquisitive to know whats happening where!!

No Good:
Food is not all that great!

. INFANTARIA:

Good:>
This place is on the road that leads from the Calangute junction towards Baga. It is famous for its English Breakfast. Try the fresh Pastries and brownie's! Also, it has some awesome deals on beer and Breezers!!

No Good:

Service is painful. Go to this place only if ur not in a hurry! What I usually do is order my breakfast and head on that road shopping!!It's ready by the time I'm back :-)

When to Go Goa??

Well, if I was to decide the season of Goa, I'd say just pick ur damn bags and go!!!!Don't bother what time of the year it is because the place has so much to offer at different times!!

However, the best season to visit Goa considering the weather would be October to April (mid). Because its very hot post this until Monsoon. But if the weather can't stop you "off- season" would be a cheaper affair:-)

History & all that jazz about GOA!

Goa is the smallest state of India. Goa was ruled for centuries by a varied ensemble of Indian rulers, then landed the Portuguese in the early 16th century as merchants, and conquered it soon thereafter. The Portuguese overseas territory existed for about 450 years, until it was annexed by India in 1961. During their occupation, the Portuguese converted a majority of people in Goa to Christianity. And there were a lot of Portuguese who stayed back and generations still reside in Goa.

Goa's state language is Konkani, although locals are fluent with English, Hindi, Marathi & Konkani.

It is divided into South & North prominently with the following tehsils:
North Goa is the more commercial belt with lot of places to visit. Its divided into:
- PERNEM (Arambol Beach, Mandrem Beach)
- BARDEZ (Anjuna Beach, Vagator Beach, Calangute Beach, Candolim Beach, Sinquerim Beach, Baga Beach, Mapusa)
- BICHOLIM (Bicholim)
- SATARI (Valpoi)
- PANAJI (Tiswadi, Old Goa, Dona Paula Beach)
- PONDA (Ponda)

South Goa is more the residential and calmer segment of Goa.
- VASCO (Mormugoa, Dabolim Airport)
- SANGUEM (Sanguem)
- MARGAON( Colva Beach, Benaulim Beach)
- QUEPEM( Quepem)
- SANGUEM( Sanguem)
- CANCONA (Chaudi, Palolem Beach)
